About me

About me

The 2000 election started my lifelong obsession in politics.

Watching CNN with my parents became the foundation for a career in civics, politics, advocacy, and government.

Politics captivated me so much that my first job was as a ten-year-old page for Alabama’s then-Lieutenant Governor Lucy Baxley.

School opened up even more avenues to grow my understanding by double majoring in history and political science. Beyond class, I was active in student government and became a leader in Democratic activism.

With my deep interest in politics, I’ve focused my career on policy advocacy and issue communications, especially around advancing climate justice, renewable energy, higher education, church-state separation, and First Amendment protections. I have also expanded my understanding of government operations serving in municipal government operations, the House of Representatives, the U.S. Senate, the U.S. Department of Commerce, and currently the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine.

I enjoy collaborating with passionate and organized people on missions to make a difference.

In my free time, I find myself reading nonfiction, podcasting, working on screenplays (I run a writing group to help other local creatives!), watching The Simpsons, and hanging out with my cats, Gnocchi and Ziti.
